Owasippe Summer Camp
Troop 1 Chicago goes to camp Blackhawk on the Owasippe Scout Reservation in Michigan for one week each summer, typically the week following July 4th. For new Scouts, the Pathfinder program at Owasippe focuses on completing the requirements needed for ranks through First Class. Younger Scouts can also earn their first merit badges – a most rewarding experience, coming with it a proud sense of accomplishment. For more experienced Scouts, some of the more challenging "required" merit badges can efficiently be earned at Owasippe. An industrious Scout can earn up to five or six merit badges at Owasippe, in addition to advancing in rank.
